What I want on my blog: clean / white style. handwritten notes, background. showcase area. above & below the fold design / separation. ALSO, random quote, and abitilty to do comments as SIDE NOTES. Also want date set outside of main content area, like a tag. Need a return to top, this page has one that stays in the same place no matter how far you scroll (left side of page w/ rss feed and other icons). Also, want a senseof depth andspace, possibly by tilting the images and showing perspective.

GRID!
ok, so i kind of forgot how to be a designer and had to look up what i was supposed to do when designing stuff, and then i found some articles and remember that i need to strat w/ a grid to organize my content, so i looed around, found somesite i liked and made a grid, that ultimately is based off of airbag’s website. the grid may resembe the site exactly, but once i’m done designing and adding colors, it will not be a carbon copy.

ideo big questions widget. love the division of space, and subtle shadows / reflections on the main content
maybe it's a little overdone, or cheesy, but using something from my actual desk to set the category of my website.
love the collage and layering of this print for sale at antigirl.com.
i like grunge. and the handmade / printmaking look.
Grunge Style in Modern Website Design.
i want a tag cloud footer, but i can't find a decent one and i really don't want to make my own....
Inspiration
Here's a list of all the blogs i'd like to emulate to create a well-designed blog

I love the typography, layout, and colors of this particular blog: Jeff Croft.
I love the cleanness and open feeling of this website, and the creative use of the grid. Grow Collective.
I like the diagonal lines and blocks of color used at paylessontherunway.com.
while this is actually a printed piece of chris comella's portfolio pieces, (works at GoMedia) i like this kind of idea for my showcase.

Derek Punsalan. Again i like the showcase / highlight feature and the cleanness of the layout
